Dear Diary: As I've said before, Fall is my favourite time of year, and as of yesterday, it's officially into the season. One of the things I love to do is jam my packsack full of snacks and water and hike out into the woods. The leaves are turning magnificent colours, the air is crisp and I can often see some wild life stocking up for hibernation. So when this colour came up for the Challenge, I thought of me trudging out into the woods.
It just occurred to me. Wearing this colour in the bush - during hunting season - not a good choice. I hope no one mistakes me for a moose - strike that - a graceful deer! Good Night for now. It's that time of year again, to turn our clocks back one hour to signify the end of Daylight Savings Time. Last year I forgot and woke up at my usual time to realize that I could have slept another hour. This year I turned my clocks back early Saturday night to make sure I remembered BUT I still didn't sleep in.
Oh well, it will give me another hour to do the cleaning, laundry, cooking and vacuuming. Hmmm...is that extra hour an advantage or what?
OK...reveal time!! This is ME! I mean it. Denim is ME! When I found out what the colour choice was for the 52 week colour challenge, I knew that I would post ME! This is what I look like in my world. I put on my jeans as soon as I come from work, add a tee [green is my favourite colour] and today I added a cardigan since it was a little cool on this side of the grid. I usually wear hoop-type earrings and a watch to let me know how behind I am. Wash the face so, no makeup except for a little lip gloss, and hair usually looks like this after a day of work. So now you know...it's out in the open....this is really ME!
Last week I told you I was looking for a new house. I found one that I love and totally fits ME. But I had to move from my old place in a hurry so I didn't have time to clean out the junk I've accumulated in the past few years. So, that's what I had to do before the furniture could be put in.
It took me forever to look through all the stuff. I usually talk to myself to make it easier to toss stuff out. I am a pack rat. "Oh no! Can't throw that out. I bought that book in Grade 10 for Mr. Smith's History class!" "Let's see...size 2...well maybe I can get into that next year."
I was smiling when I finally got the first load out to the garbage bin.
I didn't realize how many paper items I had to recycle.
YAAAAAY!!!! Even though the snow was up to my ankles, I was thrilled to get all the old stuff out and to make room for all the new.

It's Super Bowl Sunday!! I love this day! Not only for the game [what happened to da Bears??] but for the BBQ, salad, desserts and beer. And who will be the champs?? Hmmm....Steelers have already won 6 times; the Packers 3...but I think the Pack is HUNGRY this time around... I always wanted to know how it would feel to throw around a football in front of a huge crowd so I went out to Rutgers Stadium. I had to dress the part and wear my hair to rival Matthews and Polamalu.
I tried throwing.
I caught it and ran for the goal.
Sooooo close now.....almost there.
TOUCHDOWN!! I went crazy and the crowd went wild!
Wow! How thrilling for me! Now I can really get into the game.

The other day I was shopping at Shampoo when I saw their newest release and it made me think of when I went to school. I had to wear a uniform - white shirt, black tie, plaid skirt, sensible shoes. Of course, the outfit at Shampoo was much nicer looking but I had to buy it for old time's sake. At school, make-up was a no-no, as was jewelry, except for a watch. This certainly brought back memories.
I was not the best student in the class. When I got an assignment I left it to the last minute. Of course, I didn't have a laptop in those days. Maybe that would have made it much easier to finish something - on time!
"I work best under pressure," I would tell myself. Yes, I would get it done but not without a lot of anxiety and a lot of talking to myself.
Yes, this cute outfit brought back many memories for me and it was NOT all about the work. I had a great time in school. I still have friends today that I see all the time that went to school with me. There are many things I remember with fondness and with laughs.
