Earth Day 2021

 Dear Diary:

On this Earth Day, there are several things that are happening to us that we should be concerned about.  We should be more aware of where we throw our garbage; we are wasting almost 58% of the food we have; and, we need to be mindful of our digital usage. 

What can we do as citizens of this planet?  Make sure we don't litter and pick up other trash when we are able to.  Use everything you buy for food and freeze items that can't be used right away.  Limit watching online videos as they generate a large amount of CO2. 

We don't want our world to look like this:

 We have an amazing planet.  Let's do everything we can to keep it that way.

Retro Fashion Is My Thing

 Dear Diary:

I really love a retro style.  It doesn't matter what decade it comes from, the clothes and accessories appeal to me.  Of course I do favour a lot of the modern trends too.  So when I found this dress it fulfilled both wants for me.
It was retro fashion made for me!

The dress definitely inspires a '60s thought but it has a modern flair with the short skirt.  I loved the pattern and since it came in a variety of colours it was hard to choose.  

Of course the location for the pic had to be modern but I had to pair the dress with long straight hair and round blue tinted glasses, just to keep in the mood.

In my first world, shopping is a bit of a problem while this lockdown is in effect.  And of course my big Easter dinner is not so big!  But in my second life everything is a go.

I managed to find a great Easter market with lots of interesting decor.  I think I spent too many L$

Is This Spring?

Dear Diary:

The first week of Spring past for me without realising it was here.  Why? Because it snowed!!  The first day was not too bad - soft, large flakes that left pretty puffs on the tree.  "It will be gone quickly", I thought.  Nope! Overnight the snow fell again but this time it was too much.  I needed the snow blower for that.  When I looked out the window the third day and saw more of the icy pellets coming down, I knew that Spring had left the city.

I'm not putting away my boots yet.

 Dear Diary:

The one thing I've found about this pandemic is that I've saved a ton of money on cosmetics.  Like...who wants to put on the whole preparation, walk out of the house and have to cover everything up with a mask?  Then when you have to remove your face covering, all of your makeup is inside the mask, especially lipstick.  But I get tired of looking like a pasty version of myself so I decided I would still put on makeup every day, even if I was staying at home.

I must admit it did feel good when I looked in the mirror - not a better me - a more colourful me.

Winter Is Here For Awhile

Dear Diary:

The cold weather hasn't left my part of the world.  Layers of sweaters, scarves and gloves seem to be my every-day-attire!  I don't mind the chill of winter if I'm dressed appropriately and the humidity isn't high enough to bring the extreme frozen feel into my body.  So dressed in the correct way, visiting a warmer snowy location in my second life seemed to be a good spot to be in.

Winterland is a great place to visit.  There are lots of surprises to see while walking down paths and there's even a train station with a train ready for a ride.  Take a trip out to this picturesque location.

Up!! Up And Away!

 Dear Diary:

After my last post on my inability to get moving, I decided a change of scenery might just be what I needed.  When I looked through the list of destinations, the Lavender Lake Balloon Ride really appealed to me.

In my first life, I had been up in a hot air balloon a few years back.  It was exciting and scary both at the same time.  Of course the view was breathtaking and I totally enjoyed my trip so of course I wanted to try it in my second life.

Funny how I felt the same apprehension but...

once up in the air it was magical!

I Need To Get Motivated

 Dear Diary:

Is it me or is it just the time of year?  January always was a very long month for me - cold snowy weather; out to work in the dark and home in the dark; and, cleaning up all the left over Christmas items.  But none of those were the reasons this year in either of my lives.  We've had a mild winter and the Christmas things went away early and quickly.  So what is it?  I don't seem to want to do anything anywhere.

First I'm going to get a better attitude.  Next get dressed into some proper clothes.  Maybe even shop for something new.  Spending money usually perks me up.  Then I guess I'd better clean my kitchen.  Hopefully I'll be on a new track.  I did say hopefully...

Thinking About New Year's Resolutions

 Dear Diary:

I don't make New Year's Resolutions.  I don't make them because I don't keep them.  Over the years I've tried to follow along when friends are espousing theirs but it's futile for me.  As soon as it comes out of my mouth I know it won't work.

A lot of subjects that people choose for their intent are impossible to fulfil.  Others are personal thoughts and they can be easy to abandon.  But when I saw this T-shirt, I had to have it.  It says it all.

If you made resolutions this year, I hope you can manage to keep them.  As for me, I'll struggle along with my.."if only I could".

Getting The Wrapping Done

 Dear Diary:

I like it when I get to this point of my pre-Christmas Day schedule.  Presents are all ready; wrapping paper is to be unrolled; and bows and ribbons are poised to be put on packages.  Yes, that's on the schedule.  Now it just has to get done!

Thank goodness it goes quickly.  Then it's all under the tree until the 25th.

Starting The Christmas Decorations

In both my worlds, I like to decorate my house early in December.  It puts me in the Christmas spirit and (especially this year) brightens everything up. 

I struggled with the garland around my fireplace.  Getting it to hang just right always is an effort.

It's different this year when planning out the Christmas gifts.  Many stores in my first world have closed while others have been sold out of items for a long time.  I've been trying to do a lot of online shopping but even that brings on anxiety with the slow shipping times.  Even in my second life I've been checking items available online.
