Dear Diary:
The Twisted Colour Challenge was perfect for me this week, along with a pose I had, and here's why!
I'm an early riser. I'm up at dawn most mornings - weekends or vacation days - it doesn't matter.
When I wake up, I have a routine that I follow. I get out of bed and go to the kitchen to turn on the coffee. Then I jump in the shower. After that, the coffee is ready so I grab the first cup of the day. I turn on the television and watch the news. By then I've drunk the coffee so I make myself some toast, pour another cup and settle down for more news.
Up at dawn - favourite jammies are green - necessary coffee! What more could a girl ask for?
Good Night for now.

I'm a True Taurean
Dear Diary:
Ah yes! As we enter the 30th to 50th degree of the zodiac, between 27.24 and 54.75 degrees of celestial longitude, I realize that we arrive at the second sign. Taurus! And another birthday for me.
People born under this sign make good friends, who are very loyal, considerate and caring. They value their home life, family and are very quick to forgive. They often become professionals, in architecture or medicine but also prove to be good managers, teachers or musicians.
Of course, Taureans can also be opinionated, argumentative, and egotistical. Yes, they're good natured but when provoked show a quick temper. But none of this applies to me **cough cough**
One of the characteristics of Taurus people is love for the outdoors so I flew out to meet some bulls on a farm so we could compare horns.
A recent quote I read is a good description of fellow Taureans:

I Dream of Coastal Nights
Dear Diary:
For some reason, the thought of "Coastal Nights" made me think of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, who starred together in "Casablanca" made in 1942. It was my great aunt's favourite film and I watched it with her whenever it came on television. The movie was so romantic [at least to a young girl], that I wanted to act on the memory of that movie. Consequently, I went for a retro look for the colour challenge this week.
The film took place on the coast of Morocco in the city of Casablanca, which now has a population of over 3 million people. The city has a Mediterranean climate, warm and sunny during the day, with the coast being cooled by currents off the Atlantic Ocean. As I look out the window at the piles of snow that I got on Friday, I AM dreaming of coastal nights!

Know When to Relax
Dear Diary:
I love dark chocolate. Yesterday I opened one of my favourite chocolates, the ones with the sayings inside, and the printed message jumped out, "Know When to Relax". It was speaking to me!
Yes, I go to aerobics. Yes, I lift weights. I do all the exercises that are good for me but that just gets me pumped up. A friend suggested I try yoga for the ultimate in a restful evening.

These pictures make me look super good at yoga, thanks to Coco Creations, but unlike the masterful poses you see here, I've discovered in my first life I'm totally inflexible. Totally!! Instead of making me relaxed, I was rolled up in knots.
OK...tried it. I found out yoga was hard work. So back to the chocolate and looking for a better message.
Good Night for now.

And What is Peony's Secret?
Dear Diary:
Let me break this combination down:
PEONY: I really like this flowering shrub. I have several in my garden. Unfortunately ants love them too. I wish I could cut them and bring them into the house but that would be like inviting the ants to a picnic.
SECRET: I'm very good at keeping secrets. When I'm told not to tell, I don't! But do I have secrets? Doesn't everybody?
So...think I've covered the Twisted Colour Challenge for this week. Let's hope Sookie doesn't have a new colour next week called, "Name Your Secrets".

A New Store to Me #4
Dear Diary:
The other day I was shopping and came upon a store that was "new to me". It's called :::podium:::. and the owner / creator of these fabulous designs is nelsat kanya. The store features all mesh clothes, casual but with a quirky taste which I love.
The off-shoulder tee that I'm wearing, comes in a large variety of colours, all with different images and sayings. I picked up a couple since the price was so reasonable.

I added skinny jeans in coral as it will be spring one of these days and it brought out the colours in the tee very well. The jeans also come in many bright, springy colours, as well as a good selection of traditional denim shades.
It was really hard to decide what to feature from this store. There's a cute hooded dress that I really loved. Again the colour choices were numerous. The skirts were trendy and flirty and would go with any top, while a featured dress was perfect for a job interview or could be dressed up with jewelry for a night out.
I decided to also show one of WetCat's items from Pose Fair. The frosted windows in the three sided prop have 6 poses in them, 3 male, 3 female but the poses could be unisex.
Check out Podium in your travels. Bet you can't leave without buying a new outfit.
Good Night for now.

♫Boysenberry Fields Forever♪♪-oops-Wrong Words
Dear Diary:
I love the colour combination for the Twisted Colour Challenge this week. Purple and brown go very well together, even though purple and black seem to be more of a traditional connection.
I also love the taste of boysenberries. I've never tried to grow them but I have picked them. It's easy to get scratched, seeing the berries grow on a vine with lots of thorns. It's worth it!
Good Night for now.

Overcome by Sangria's Shadow
Dear Diary:
Sangria is a wine punch, found typically in Spain or Portugal. It's made up of red wine, honey or sugar, a variety of chopped fruit and sometimes brandy. Often a pop, such as Ginger Ale, is substituted for the brandy. The taste varies depending on what type of fruit or alcohol you use. White wine can be added to the punch also, in place of red wine. I don't really like sangria very much as a drink but I do like it as a colour.
I'm lovin' this Challenge!

Up...Up and Away!
Dear Diary:
Ah yes! It's travel time again. Not for fun this time. This time I need to fly for work. I WILL have a good time. I know that. And it WILL be informative. I'll learn. But still...
It's trying to remember everything I need to have. Passport? Laptop? Itinerary? And of course - money? Waiting for the taxi at 4 am, closing my eyes for a few seconds of rest and trying to understand why I need to be at the airport SO early, is beyond my comprehension this early in the morning. Of course it's the Easter weekend so I have to fly out the day before I wanted to because the flights were booked. Wow...I'm working up a headache just thinking of what's ahead.
Next week, when I arrive home, I'll tell everybody about the wonderful time I had and I'll mean it. It's a good thing the preparation fades quickly.
Good Night for now.

Wearing Denim at the Spa
Dear Diary:
Ohhhhh....the thought of going to a spa is a WONDERFUL consideration!! The idea of being pampered, polished and painted certainly appeals to me right now. I'm not sure I would be wearing denim unless it was in a towel but I would wear anything to spend a day being totally indulged.
For the Twisted Colour Challenge this week, I'm wearing something I would wear in my first world. When I put it together, my lives melded into "Ummmm...do I truly have this dress hanging up in my closet?"

Today is the First Day of Spring. Yeah - Right!
Dear Diary:
Spring arrived this morning at 7:02am, or so I heard. I wonder if they forgot my part of the world? Yesterday it snowed - wet, heavy stuff - so it meant waiting for the snow plow to come by, shovelling quickly, so I could get on my way to work. Flowers in my garden are still under a metre of snow so I'm getting the winter blues. Where could I go to get that spring feeling? I'm lucky I have a second world to find a great spring-like place.
I flew out to Izzie's. She transforms her sim to match the season. It's a wonderful place to take pictures, and of course to shop. I had on my winter coat, and boots but to sit under the tree, with apple blossoms, butterflies and a sweet little bird beside me, brought a warm feeling to my mind and a supreme relaxation of all the muscles that ached from the shovelling.
Now if I don't look out the window, or go outside for the next month or two I'll be fine.
Good Night for now.

Hemingway in the Sienna
Dear Diary:
When I first read the colour name for the Challenge this week, I immediately thought of the author, Ernest Hemingway, a very prolific writer who often set his books in Spain. Hop-Flop-Toe-Step
Dear Diary:
When I was six, my Mom enrolled me in dance classes. I took ballet and it was ok but I wasn't really the swan-type girl. I loved the tap lessons. So when I recently read an article stating that tap dancing was making a comeback in popularity once again, I was thrilled.
Apparently, tap was taught in Canadian schools until the Second World War but stopped when the metal from the taps, was needed for the war. Later, tap was divided into two different fields - the Broadway tap and the rhythmic tap - but presently they seem to be melding into one.
Now the search is on for a tap course at a North American university. There are programs for jazz or contemporary dance but as yet, tap courses are hard to find. It would be nice to be able to get a credit for tap as you can for the other dance disciplines.
I still dig out my tap shoes and take a weekly lesson with a few of my "old" dancing buddies. No more tapping to "Tea for Two" for us! It's Radiohead or Queen now!
Good Night for now.

A New Store to Me #3
Dear Diary:
The other day I was looking for some new hair accessories, something perky to give me a springy feeling. When I flew in to the store to check out some items, I got a triple bonus! It was 3 stores in one!!
The main store is Wertina, a clothing store. There's a good variety of casual clothes, covering jeans, tees, and shorts. There are some cute dresses, ranging in design and colour. I picked up the dress I'm wearing. It has a plunging back not shown in the picture so it could serve as something more dressy. As I walked through the store, it became .charme, a small shop for some unusual hair accessories - flowers and headbands. I picked up a perky daisy headband that made me feel like spring. As I turned around, I noticed an alcove with yet another store, Frozen, that supplies poses, where I picked up this pose for rainy weather.
Since the colour of my dress is "rainbow", I wanted to find a dark, rainy sim for a photo. 2304 Rain fit the bill.
Check out this 3 in 1 store when you get a chance. It's full of surprises and can be a very productive shopping experience.
Good Night for now.
I'm wearing:

A Shopping Trip Brings Lots of Laughs
Dear Diary:
Last weekend, my friend Chloe suggested we go on a shopping spree. I'm always up for buying something new and adding to my already bulging closet. Chloe got a notice that My Attic at The Deck had some exceptional items for truly reasonable prices, provided by skillful designers. The Theme was "Pop Music" and as we are both big music fans, we decided to see what was there. Well...we broke the bank!!
Chloe bought this fun prop with colour changeable walls, stripes and wording. Of course we tried out all the possible colour combinations. Every record has several poses and we tested them completely too. You could have two other friends join you for a great photo op.
I'm a little more outgoing than Chloe so I chose neon hair to go with my rockin' outfit. The outfit comes with four colour choices for the sequin top. It even has the torn nylons. She picked an equally cool dress that is really impressive. It comes in a variety of shades and patterns and I think I'm going back to pick one of them up. She was daring enough to get a hair do with streaks [hehehe]. Our purchases were fantastic for a one-stop-shop. We had a blast!
Drop into My Attic if you get a chance to see all the clothes, hair, and two amazing props. There's only a few days left since it closes February 28th.
Good Night for Now.
All from My Attic:
On Chloe:
Hair: ploom Rene (candy)
Dress: DCNY Pop Princess Collection Candy Cutie
On Me:
Hair: Mina Hair (Spice)
Skirt, top and jacket: Stellar Gwen set (purple)
Prop with poses: W Winx and Flair - WinxBox - MPop

Lyndhurst Plum Has Attitude
Dear Diary:
"Lyndhurst Plum", as a colour name, sounded so elegant. I looked at my formal gowns, searched the closet for any demure cocktail dress, and shopped for the perfect two-piece outfit. I didn't pick any of them. I decided that this colour deserved something a little more edgy.
I loved this colour combination. Wish I had this dress in my first world.
Good Night for now.
I'm wearing:
Skin: LeLutka Lola (light)
Lipstick: HeadTurners Aphrodite Brianna Special Edition (012)
Eyes: Ikon Sunrise (deep hazel)
Eye shadow: Mozz Cosmetics Glittery Smokey eye (purple)

Blush: Mock Natural Blush (Stiletto)
Hair: Bewitched Hair Feral (no longer available as single colour; as a pack on SL Marketplace)
Dress: Yeliz Mesh Couture Dress "Silhouette" Wool Turquoise
Shoes: W&Y pumps Type A (violet) (tinted darker)

A Warm Afternoon Post
Dear Diary:
I usually try to write something significant to you after I come home from work. I change into some comfortable clothes, open the blinds to let in the sun, and sit at my desk in front of the computer. Before I put my thoughts to paper, I look to see what's new in the world. Today, an interesting paragraph, on technology, caught my eye.
Last year, it was estimated that about 33 million people use a tablet in place of their other computers. To me, that seemed to be a high number but the article stated it was going to triple by 2014. That got me thinking - why?
I like my desktop and laptop. There's something secure about having substantial pieces of computer, for me that is. Alright, a tablet is only one piece and of course very mobile. I used to argue that the keyboard on a tablet wasn't user friendly but it seems to have improved. I guess I'm just going to have to give in to change. Star Trek has become real!
Good Night for now.
I'm wearing:
Sweater: HK n6 mesh loose sweater (free on SL Marketplace)
Leggings: en Svale leggings (dot) (gift)
Feet: Gos Boutique (barefeet arched)
Pose in desk and chair: MMG desk and chair
